14 Collins Road reconsiders the approach of Seniors living developments within a suburban environment. The site presents a very high level of existing landscape amenity that allows the scheme to be nested in and around the existing trees to create a private, almost hidden oasis of green. This private garden, stretches throughout the proposal, linking each of the private dwellings into a community of plants. The development is cleverly designed to appear as a collection of small houses, dominated by landscape and sitting amongst the trees with hedging and planting define the street and lot boundaries, with any fencing and retaining walls concealed from public view
